Jackalope Block Party Secured for Ventura Through 2028

If you were one of the many lucky people walking the streets of Ventura last month, chances are that you came face to face with JACKALOPE Block Party Ventura, which dropped its 13.5 feet high vert ramp directly in the heart of the City. For three days, the free event brought world-class skaters to the coast, mixed them with local talent, and surrounded the whole thing with live music and local vendors. It was loud, crowded, and exactly what Ventura's action sports culture is all about. If that’s what year one brought to the table, we can’t even imagine what’s next.

It was nothing short of legendary. The energy from the local community, the incredibly talented athletes, and +50K fans proved that Ventura is the perfect home for JACKALOPE’s unique blend of adrenaline and youth culture. The weekend was etched into action sports history when JD Sanchez dropped a mind-blowing, first-ever 99 score in JACKALOPE history (competing with a broken wrist, no less) while skate icon Steve Caballero completely shut it down by landing a flawless signature Cab during the legendary legends demo.

"We are looking forward to building off an epic inaugural year of Jackalope Block Party Ventura," said Micah Desforges, Founder and CEO of TRIBU. "Ventura completely embraced our vision of raw talent and community creativity. Securing two more years gives us the perfect opportunity to keep building something truly special on the West Coast"

A Shared Vision for Ventura

This renewal is a great milestone for tourism, local businesses, and the culture of downtown Ventura. It’s the result of a close collaboration with the city leaders and tourism boards who worked alongside us to make year one a reality.

"Jackalope Block Party Ventura was pure magic in our hometown," said Marlyss Auster, President & CEO of Visit Ventura. "We cannot wait to welcome back all the athletes, fans, and entire Jackalope family for the next two years. From the beginning, it's always been a partnership based on a shared love of what skateboarding is all about. We're thankful for our partners across the board for rolling up their sleeves and making this happen. It's an epic community event that we know both locals and visitors alike will look forward to year after year."

Ventura Mayor Dr. Jeannette Sanchez-Palacios shared her enthusiasm for the multi-year extension:

"We are thrilled to welcome the Jackalope Block Party back to Ventura for another two years. This event brought incredible energy to our historic Downtown, celebrating Ventura's passion for spectator sports, supporting our local businesses, and showcasing the spirit of our community. We look forward to continuing this successful partnership and building on the excitement for years to come."
