Right before the weather took a turn, fans were treated to BMX and Moto X demos that set the tone for the afternoon.
Women’s Vert Finals
We were lucky enough to get the Women’s Vert Finals in before the downpour hit, and the atmosphere was unmatched. The riders put on a clinic of height, technical prowess, and smooth style, keeping everyone on the edge of their seats until the final drop-in.
Women’s Vert Finals Podium:

Mizuho Hasegawa stomped an incredible line to claim the top spot with a staggering 93.05 score, launching off the roll-in into a massive stalefish, followed by a bigflip Indy, a clean back smith grind, a fakie-to-fakie 540, a 540 grab over the channel, and closing out with a heavy backside 5 body varial.
Shuka Kawai followed closely in second with a heavy-hitting 91.50, blasting back-to-back backside 540 mutes, a backside 540 body varial, and finishing with a huge frontside rodeo. Bryce Wettstein rounded out the top three with her signature flow and creative style, locking in an 84.40 on her final run, snatching 3rd place from Nina Ye by lacing a fakie frontside grab and closing with a full cab.
Rain Interruption & Men’s Vert Compromise
Just as the hype reached its peak, a big rainstorm hit right before the Men’s Finals.
With the ramp still a bit wet, safety came first. But rather than calling it quits, the judges and athletes made it work with a compromise: an all-out jam session to give the crowd a show, and official standings were taken from the Semi-Final scores.
