If you’re planning on coming to our very first JACKALOPE event in California, or you’re still not fully convinced, let me introduce you to my series: ROAD TRIP TO JACKALOPE BLOCK PARTY VENTURA.
In this series, I’m taking you along the exact route we did, from LAX to Ventura, with stops in Camarillo, Port Hueneme, and Oxnard.
Last November, a small part of our crew flew out to California for a content shoot, and I was one of the lucky ones. And when I say I fell in love with California, I’m not exaggerating. The views, the people, everything we experienced… We were fully on a cloud the entire time.
So let’s start with the very first stop you have to make: Camarillo.
Our crew for the day: JM (videographer), JD (sales), David (programming), Micah (CEO), and myself, Aude (marketing). And honestly, we had one of the most iconic days lined up.
And what’s more iconic than calling up Bob Burnquist and asking him to hang with us for the day? So yeah… we did exactly that.

We started the day in Old Town Camarillo, a super charming area filled with restaurants, vintage spots, and a skate shop. It is the heart of the city's food scene. The kind of place where you just want to walk around with no real plan.
Here’s a quick list of top spots to stop by:
American Pie Coffee House
House of Bamboo
Bobbi's Mexican Food
The Local
The Mark
From there, we headed to the Camarillo Premium Outlets… and let’s just say we did some damage. We randomly stumbled into a JD Sports store opening event, DJ blasting, crowd hyped… completely unexpected, but we were all in.
Next stop: the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Southern California Wing. And this is where things got unreal. We had booked Bob a flight in a PT-19 aircraft.
PRO-TIP: You don’t have to be Bob to do this. The CAFSoCal actually offers Warbird Rides to the public. If you’ve ever wanted to see the coast from a WWII cockpit, this is your chance.
Since he has his pilot license, he actually got to fly this old bird himself. Watching that takeoff was one of those moments where you just stop and think, “ok this is crazy.” Right next to the museum, there’s a small airport restaurant called Waypoint Café and it’s soooo freaking good. And I’m not even kidding, the milkshakes there are insane. Like… mandatory stop.
Camarillo Skatepark Session
We wanted to finish the day with a skate session with Bob. Couldn’t be with him all day and not skate you know?

So we pulled up to the Camarillo Skatepark for a sunset session. The boys went in. JD was battling a trick, and David and Bob locked into this combo boardslide on a weird, funky ledge. David ended the session calling it: “quadruple B: back-to-back with Bob Burnquist.” Not a bad way to wrap a day.

Wondering where to go next? Port Hueneme.
